Trump Praises Queen Camilla at White House Farewell

Donald Trump praised Queen Camilla as 'amazing' during a ceremonial farewell at the White House as King Charles and Queen Camilla concluded their state visit to the United States.

After completing engagements in New York, the royal couple returned to Washington DC to bid farewell to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. As they arrived at the South Portico, Trump exchanged pleasantries with King Charles before complimenting the Queen.

Lip Reader Reveals Trump's Comments

Lip reader Jeremy Freeman told the Mirror that Trump said to the King: 'It's been good. It's been important. Look at everybody,' before pointing to Camilla and adding: 'I don't know how she does it, she's amazing.'

Turning to the Queen, the President said: 'It was fantastic. I look forward to seeing you again. Thank you for making it a success. Love to the grandchildren.'

Melania's Gratitude

First Lady Melania Trump thanked the royal couple, telling Camilla: 'I'm glad you had a great time,' and to Charles: 'Thank you, we loved having you here. See you soon. We loved you. Have a good journey.'

Melania also noticed Camilla was wearing the Tiffany brooch she had gifted her during their UK visit last September, exclaiming: 'Oh that's so wonderful.'

Press Interaction

As the couples posed for photos, a reporter asked the King: 'Your Majesty, what do you think of the Trump renaissance and all the improvements in DC?' Charles replied: 'I like it, very interesting.'

Trump later hailed Charles as 'the greatest king in my book,' adding that the couple are 'really great people. We need more people like that in our country.'

Virginia Engagements

After departing Washington, the King and Queen visited Arlington National Cemetery to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and received a 21-gun salute. They then travelled to Front Royal, Virginia, for a 'block party' celebrating America's 250th birthday.

Joined by Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger and Front Royal Mayor Lori Athey Cockrell, the royal couple watched a parade of marching bands, cheerleaders, and classic cars proceed down Main Street, joining the community celebration.
