Trump Says Starmer Must 'Learn to Deal Like the King' in Fresh Attack
Trump Attacks Starmer: 'Learn to Deal Like the King'

Donald Trump has launched a fresh attack on Prime Minister Keir Starmer, insisting that the British leader 'has to learn to deal like the King' during a state visit by King Charles. In an interview with Sky News, the US President said he does not know whether the royal visit will help to improve his relationship with Starmer.

Trump's Remarks on the Royal Visit

'I can't give you an answer to that,' Trump said when asked if the visit would ease tensions. 'I can tell you one thing, our relationship is very good, but you know, that's another individual. We'll find out.' He added, 'But I like Keir Starmer very much, but I think he's made a tragic mistake on immigration and a tragic mistake on energy.'

The president spoke to Sky News after bidding farewell to the King and Queen at the White House, where he called His Majesty 'a fantastic guy'. Trump also claimed that King Charles 'would have probably helped' the United States in the Iran conflict, a clear dig at Starmer and NATO.

Background of the Tensions

This is not the first time Trump has criticized Starmer's policies. The US President has repeatedly voiced disapproval of the UK's approach to immigration and energy, which he describes as 'tragic mistakes'. The state visit by King Charles was seen by some as an opportunity to mend relations, but Trump's comments suggest otherwise.

During the farewell ceremony at the White House, Trump praised the King's leadership and expressed admiration for the British monarchy. However, his remarks about Starmer indicate that diplomatic tensions remain high.
