Dani Dyer Set for Strictly Come Dancing Return in 2026
Dani Dyer Set for Strictly Come Dancing Return in 2026

Dani Dyer is reportedly set to make a sensational return to Strictly Come Dancing in 2026, a year after she was forced to quit the series due to a fractured ankle sustained during rehearsals. The 29-year-old TV personality had been one of the show's early favourites but had to withdraw before performing a single routine for the judges.

Second Chance at the Ballroom

According to sources, BBC bosses approached Dyer about returning for the upcoming series, and she 'jumped at the chance.' A source told The Sun: 'Dani was beyond gutted when she had to quit Strictly. She never got a chance to do a single show or a dance for the judges, so when the door was opened for her again by the BBC, she jumped at the chance.'

While Dyer has not yet signed a contract, she is reportedly clearing her diary and has expressed her strong desire to participate. 'To get a second chance to appear on Strictly is a dream come true for her,' the source added.

Hopes to Reunite with Nikita Kuzmin

During her brief stint in the 2025 series, Dyer was paired with professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin. She was replaced by Amber Davies after her exit. The source noted: 'The first time around she was paired with Nikita Kuzmin and she hopes she will get him again. She is determined to get on the dance floor and show the viewers what she's made of.'

Upon her departure, BBC bosses confirmed that the door would remain open for the 'heartbroken' star to return for the 2026 series, stating they 'hope to welcome her back to the ballroom in the future.'

Strictly Undergoes Major Changes

This year's series of Strictly Come Dancing has undergone a significant makeover. It was announced this week that Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe will be the new hosts of the show. Additionally, the show is preparing to welcome five new professional dancers.

Among the new additions is Ukrainian dancer Kateryna Klishyna, 29, who has been branded 'the new Nadiya Bychkova' after the latter was axed from the show in March. Klishyna has previously appeared on America's Dancing With The Stars and So You Think You Can Dance in Ukraine. A source revealed to The Sun: 'Bosses love Kateryna. Many will see her as Nadiya's replacement as they look so similar.'

Professional Dancer Exits

Nadiya Bychkova was one of several professionals to leave the show this year, joining Karen Hauer, Michelle Tsiakkas, Luba Mushtuk, and Gorka Marquez. After nine years on the show, Bychkova announced her exit on Instagram in March, expressing gratitude for her journey.

BBC representatives have declined to comment on the rumours. Daily Mail has contacted Dani Dyer's representatives and the BBC for further comment.
