The White House has hit back at CNN following a segment that scrutinised Donald Trump's health, particularly his sleep habits, which went viral on social media. CNN medical analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner expressed concerns about what he termed Trump's “severe daytime somnolence”, frequent napping, and other visible health issues such as bruising and ankle swelling.
White House Response
The White House dismissed Reiner's comments, accusing CNN of hypocrisy and asserting that Trump is the “sharpest, most accessible, and energetic president in American history”. A spokesperson emphasised that Trump's recent health check-up “checked out PERFECTLY”.

Conservative podcaster Megyn Kelly suggested that Trump's drowsiness could be attributed to lack of sleep or unengaging events, rather than a serious medical condition. Trump himself brushed off the accusation, saying the press conference “got pretty boring”.
Recent polls indicate ongoing public concern regarding Trump's mental sharpness ahead of his 80th birthday, despite the White House's strong defence.
