Trump: Hantavirus Outbreak 'Under Very Good Control'

Donald Trump commented on the hantavirus outbreak aboard a cruise ship, stating that it is “under very good control” and that the World Health Organization “know that virus very well”.

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Friday, Trump emphasized that hantavirus is not easily transmissible, drawing a distinction from COVID-19. The cruise ship, which has been affected by the hantavirus, is expected to arrive at Granadilla port in Tenerife early on Sunday.

Repatriation flights will be arranged and waiting in Tenerife to transport passengers from the vessel back to their home countries. Singapore announced on Saturday that two passengers had tested negative for the virus.
