A 15-year-old boy has been formally charged by police following an alleged assault on a teacher and the reported brandishing of a weapon at Milford Haven Comprehensive School in Pembrokeshire. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, February 5, led to the school being placed into lockdown as a precautionary measure.
Police Investigation and Charges
Dyfed-Powys Police attended the school on Steyton Road in Milford Haven at approximately 3:20 pm on February 5. Initially, the boy was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, but in the early hours of Saturday morning, authorities announced he had been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm under Section 18 and possession of a bladed article on education premises.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Briggs, provided details on the case. He stated, "Following the incident at Milford Haven Comprehensive School on Thursday February 5, a 15-year-old boy has been charged with Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm and Possession of a Bladed Article on education premises. In response to community concerns, authorities have indicated that there will be a higher than usual police presence in the area over the coming days to provide reassurance. Officers will also be working closely with local secondary schools to offer support throughout the upcoming week.
