Influencer Gabriella Bardsley Photographed on Phone During Court-Ordered Community Service
Social media influencer Gabriella Bardsley, the 23-year-old daughter of The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley and step-daughter of footballer Phil Bardsley, has been photographed scrolling through her mobile phone while undertaking court-mandated community service. The images emerged on Saturday, showing Bardsley at The Salvation Army charity shop in Wilmslow, where she is required to complete 200 hours of unpaid work as part of her sentence for a serious drink-driving conviction.
Serious Drink-Driving Offence and Court Sentencing
Bardsley pleaded guilty last year to drink-driving after being apprehended by police while attempting to drive through an active police blockade in her Audi A3. The incident occurred on May 11 in Wilmslow, Cheshire, where officers reported she was visibly intoxicated, slurring her words, and struggling to maintain her balance. Subsequent testing revealed her breath alcohol level measured 122 micrograms per 100ml, which is nearly three-and-a-half times the legal limit of 35 micrograms in England and Wales.
During her sentencing hearing in July at South Cheshire Magistrates' Court in Crewe, magistrates acknowledged they had considered a custodial sentence but ultimately opted for a 12-month community order due to her previously clean record. Her lawyer, Gary Hughes, emphasized her "hitherto good character" and requested a pre-sentence report from a female probation officer, citing sensitive personal matters. Bardsley received an interim driving ban and was observed sobbing as she left the courtroom, comforted by her father.
Community Service Under Scrutiny
The recent photographs depict Bardsley wearing a fur coat while seated on a chair inside the charity shop, actively engaged with her smartphone. Additional images show her standing at the till, folding donated clothing items. This unpaid work forms a crucial component of her community order, imposed after the court heard she drove while intoxicated following "hurtful jibes" about her "quasi-celebrity" status at a party.
Prosecutor Charlie Hayward detailed to the court how Bardsley approached the scene of a road traffic collision and made an attempt to breach the established police blockade. Upon being stopped, she initially refused a roadside breath test, necessitating her transport to a nearby police station for formal testing. Appearing in the dock dressed in a black jacket and white trousers, she formally entered her guilty plea when the drink-driving charge was presented.
Reality Television Connections and Public Profile
Gabriella Bardsley has cultivated a public profile through appearances alongside her family on the ITVBe reality series The Bardsley Bunch. She was also rumoured to be a potential contestant for last summer's Love Island lineup, though she ultimately did not participate in the programme. Her mother, Tanya Bardsley, previously commented to Closer Magazine about her daughter's television opportunities, stating, "Gabriella just lives in fairy land anyway. So it's just another nice thing, you know, a little fairy land."
The case highlights the legal consequences faced by individuals with public profiles for serious driving offences, while also raising questions about the conduct and engagement expected during court-ordered community service commitments. The combination of her familial celebrity connections, the severity of the offence, and her behaviour during the mandated service has attracted significant public and media attention.
