California 'Party Mom' Text Messages Exposed in Court Over Teen Drinking and Sex Allegations

Disturbing text messages sent by a California woman dubbed the "party mom," who is accused of organizing alcohol-fueled teenage gatherings at her multi-million dollar mansion, have been presented as evidence in court. Shannon O'Connor, aged 50, allegedly hosted Project X-style parties at her Silicon Valley residence in Los Gatos, where she reportedly encouraged high school students to engage in sexual activities.

Las Vegas Trip and Explicit Messages

As her legal case unfolded this week, jurors heard that O'Connor took her then-14-year-old son and a teenage girl to Las Vegas in 2020, where she pushed them to consume alcohol. According to KRON 4, text messages displayed in court showed her son writing in a group chat after arriving in Sin City, "Someone give me a f**king beer." O'Connor allegedly replied, "I'm down. Champagne? [Let's] hit the pool with drinks, lots of drinks... What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas."

O'Connor is currently facing a total of 63 criminal charges, which include endangering the health of a child, sexual battery, and annoying or molesting a child. She has entered a plea of not guilty to all counts. Prosecutors further allege that she used Snapchat to communicate with her son's friends, frequently discussing topics related to sex and drinking with them.

Teen Testimonies and Party Allegations

Several teenagers have testified that they used to communicate with the so-called "Los Gatos Party Mom" on a daily basis. One teenage boy reflected, "Looking back on it, it's pretty weird." Another student, identified as John Doe 5, stated that O'Connor went beyond a "cool mom" persona and increasingly acted like one of the "popular" girls their own age. He added that she controlled sexual pairings at parties and that he regularly discussed sex with her.

The mother is accused of permitting sexual assault and abuse to occur during parties at her mansion. One girl, known as Jane Doe 8, testified that she felt pressured to have sex with her boyfriend and lost her virginity at O'Connor's house. When asked by Deputy District Attorney Joanna Lee if the encounter was consensual, the girl responded, "I felt like I had to do it at a certain point. I didn't say no." She confirmed feeling pressure during the incident.

Blackout Drunk Assault and Gifts

The same girl also testified that she believes she was sexually assaulted while "blackout" drunk at O'Connor's property. She told the court that she went to bed wearing underwear but woke up without any, though it remains unclear who may have assaulted her—whether it was her boyfriend or even O'Connor herself. When pressed by the defense, she suggested, "I'm suggesting it might have been Shannon."

Additionally, the young girl revealed that O'Connor bought her an expensive Tiffany necklace, flowers, and smoothies, and the pair spoke every day. O'Connor allegedly called her "pretty" or "beautiful" and made comments that other teenage girls were "all b**ches and how I was the best girl."

Out-of-Control Parties and Property Damage

Court documents indicate that O'Connor began hosting out-of-control parties for her son and other Los Gatos High School students shortly after he graduated from middle school in June 2020. The legal filings claim the "party mom" would encourage guests to get drunk and have sex for her own sexual gratification.

During one particularly wild event at a luxury beach rental, O'Connor allegedly provided beer and liquor to youngsters before they caused $9,000 worth of damage. Security cameras captured the chaotic scenes, with footage played in court on January 6 showing teenagers vomiting, chugging alcohol, and smashing cans on the home's manicured lawn.

The rental's owner testified that the party left their beautiful beachfront home completely "trashed," with boys urinating around the yard and acting like "a bunch of hooligans." Security footage reportedly showed delivery drivers arriving with liquor and beer, with O'Connor appearing as the only adult present. The owner remarked, "It just kept coming and coming. It was like 20 beers for each kid … copious amounts of alcohol. I was astounded." O'Connor allegedly refused to pay for the damage until threatened with a lawsuit.

Exclusive Guest Lists and Sexual Incidents

Witnesses alleged that O'Connor hosted parties at her Los Gatos mansion while her husband was away, with exclusive guest lists comprising freshman boys and girls she deemed "pretty" and "trustworthy" enough to keep the parties secret. Court documents stated, "She would reject girls as guests by saying they weren't 'pretty enough' or didn't 'put out.'"

One witness claimed that teens would often hook up in designated rooms, with two downstairs bedrooms used for teenage sex. At a December 2020 party, O'Connor allegedly handed a condom to a boy and pushed him into a room with an intoxicated girl, who escaped and locked herself in the bathroom.

New Year's Eve Party Allegations

Prosecutors said that during a New Year's Eve party at her home with about five 14-year-olds, O'Connor allegedly watched and laughed as a drunk teenager sexually battered a young girl in bed. At the same party, she allegedly watched as a boy in a hot tub sexually assaulted a girl who was reportedly so drunk "she could barely hold her head above water," according to court documents.

O'Connor faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted. She has been in custody for four years awaiting trial. The Daily Mail has reached out to her lawyers for comment.
