Zendaya has announced she will “disappear for a little bit” after a packed 2026 schedule that includes four films and a major television show. The 29-year-old Emmy winner made the comment while speaking to Fandango’s Big Ticket, expressing hope that audiences do not tire of her extensive presence on screen.
Her 2026 slate begins on 3 April with A24’s The Drama, co-starring Robert Pattinson. A week later, the third season of HBO’s Euphoria debuts, in which Zendaya reprises her role as Rue, a part that has earned her two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
In July, Zendaya appears in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, both starring Tom Holland. The pair met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming and began dating in 2021. Speculation about a secret wedding has persisted since her stylist Law Roach told Access Hollywood the “wedding already happened”, though neither Zendaya nor Holland has publicly confirmed marriage.
The year concludes with Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three, set for release on 18 December. Zendaya stated: “After this, I’m disappearing for a little bit. I’m going to have to go into hiding for just a little bit.”
Meanwhile, The Drama has already drawn criticism over its plot twist, in which Zendaya’s character confesses to a planned high school shooting that never occurred. Tom Mauser, whose son Daniel was killed in the 1999 Columbine massacre, called the twist “awful” and accused the film of “humanising” shooters and “normalising” school shootings.
