Former US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, stating the nation is being "beaten to hell" and will be "hit hard today." This aggressive rhetoric comes as Trump demands an unconditional surrender from Tehran, escalating tensions in a volatile Middle East region.
Iranian Leaders Defiantly Reject Trump's Demands
In response, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian dismissed the United States's call for unconditional surrender as a "dream that they should take to their grave." He also issued an apology for recent attacks on neighbouring countries, acknowledging regional fallout from the conflict.
Supreme Leader's Representative Asserts Iran's Sovereignty
Dr Abdul Majid Hakeem Elahi, representing the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, firmly rejected Trump's ultimatum. He asserted that Iran would vigorously defend its dignity, sovereignty, and independence against any external pressures.
Trump, however, claimed that Iran has already "apologised and surrendered" to its Middle Eastern neighbours due to combined US and Israeli pressure. He labelled Iran "THE LOSER OF THE MIDDLE EAST," highlighting his confrontational stance.
UK Government Coordinates Repatriation Efforts
Amid the escalating crisis, the UK government is actively managing the safety of its citizens. A third government flight is scheduled to depart from Muscat, Oman, with authorities exploring options for a chartered flight from Dubai to facilitate the repatriation of British nationals from the region.
Tehran Skyline Illuminated by Strikes
Recent military actions have seen fires lighting up the Tehran skyline following strikes that targeted Mehrabad Airport. These developments underscore the immediate and tangible impacts of the ongoing conflict on Iranian infrastructure and civilian areas.
The situation remains fluid, with diplomatic channels strained and military posturing intensifying. International observers are closely monitoring for further developments as both sides maintain their hardened positions.
