Trump Warns Iran to Behave or US Will Drop Bombs on Their Head
Trump Warns Iran: Behave or Face Bombing

US President Donald Trump has issued a major warning to Iran, urging the country to 'behave' just days before a peace deal is set to be signed, or the US will resume 'dropping bombs on their head'.

Trump's Warning at G7 Summit

Speaking to reporters alongside Egypt President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the G7 summit in France, Trump was asked if the agreement with Iran was final. He responded that it is 'not finale' and warned that if Iran does not comply, the US would 'go right back to dropping bombs right smack in the middle of their head.'

Trump stated: 'It’s a Memorandum of Understanding. And if I don’t like it, we’ll go back to shooting at them, dropping bombs on their head.' He added, 'If I don’t like it, if they don’t behave, we’ll go right back to dropping bombs right smack in the middle of their head.'

Strait of Hormuz Reopening

Trump's comments come as Iran is set to immediately take steps to reopen the Strait of Hormuz once a tentative deal with the US to end the war is signed. The accord, due to be formally signed in Switzerland on Friday, June 19, outlines that the US would secure at least 300 billion dollars (£223 billion) to rebuild Iran after the conflict.

The agreement also aims to end all American and United Nations sanctions imposed on Tehran if a final deal addressing Iran’s nuclear programme is reached.

Major Concessions

The US agreement to allow Iran to sell its oil freely immediately and the offer to eventually lift all sanctions represent major concessions that surpass the terms of Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers. Trump unilaterally withdrew America from that deal during his first term, calling it the 'worst deal ever'.
