US President Donald Trump has said he would commit more federal resources to finding Nancy Guthrie, the missing mother of 'Today' anchor Savannah Guthrie. Speaking during a bill signing on Tuesday night, Trump told reporters he would provide additional federal agents if needed and plans to call Savannah Guthrie personally.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing on Saturday night in Arizona. The case is now being treated as a possible abduction, with the FBI assisting the Pima County Sheriff's Office. Trump described the situation as 'a terrible thing' and said, 'We're going to find out.'
On Tuesday, TMZ reported receiving an alleged ransom note demanding payment in Bitcoin for Nancy's release. The Pima County Sheriff's Office responded that it is taking all tips and leads seriously, coordinating with the FBI on the investigation.
Savannah Guthrie has been absent from 'Today' since her mother's disappearance and has withdrawn from covering the Winter Olympics in Milan. In an Instagram post on Monday, she asked for prayers, writing, 'We believe in prayer... Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy.'
