Claire Stoermer, the mother of actress Zendaya, has responded enigmatically to speculation that her daughter has secretly married Tom Holland. The rumours intensified after stylist Law Roach claimed on the red carpet at the Actor Awards on March 1 that the couple's wedding had 'already happened'.
Sharing a clip of the interview on Instagram, Stoermer added a laughing emoji and wrote cryptically: 'The laugh…'. Zendaya and Holland, who confirmed their relationship in 2021 after years of friendship, have long kept their private life tightly guarded, making a low-key ceremony plausible.
In a June 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Holland, 29, explained their discretion: 'Our relationship is something that we are incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible. We don't think that we owe it to anyone, it's our thing.'
Roach, 47, had previously hinted that Zendaya would likely be a 'secret bride'. Speaking to E! News last July, he suggested wedding planning had not yet begun due to her packed filming schedule, but added: 'They really love each other and they have for a really long time.'
The couple sparked wedding talk last month when Zendaya was photographed wearing a gold band on her left ring finger, distinct from her reported engagement ring—a 5.02-carat east-west cushion-cut diamond designed by British jeweller Jessica McCormack.
