Stephen Graham Dedicates Mobo Award To Stepfather

Stephen Graham won Best Performance in TV/Film at the MOBO Awards for his role in Adolescence. The actor was joined by his family at Manchester's Co-op Live for the ceremony.

In an emotional speech, Graham thanked the MOBOs and his fellow nominees before dedicating the award to his stepfather, Mike Fazakerley. 'I'd like to dedicate this award to my dad, my pops. The one and only, Mike Fazakerley,' he said, as Mike beat his hand on his heart.

Mike married Graham's mother Mary in 1989, when the actor was ten. Graham has spoken about how Mike helped him understand his mixed-race heritage. In a 2019 interview, he said: 'He helped me see who I am and what I am is good enough.'
