Pete Bowditch, one half of rap duo Pete & Bas, has shared a health update from his hospital bed after collapsing on stage in Chicago. The 70-year-old musician was suspended in a harness during a performance on Monday night when he lost consciousness and dropped his microphone.
In a video posted on Instagram, Bowditch can be seen holding a pint of beer while explaining his ordeal. 'Now, people, as you know, recently I was pronounced dead on stage. The doctors managed to bring me back,' he said. 'To celebrate that, we're announcing a tour to America.'
He captioned the post: 'Right people, it looks like I'm alive. Happy days. The wife's brought me in a takeaway pint too, so I'm finally feeling like myself again.' The duo's management previously issued a statement apologising for the show and confirming that Pete was in a stable condition, with refunds being offered to ticket holders.
Fans have reacted positively to the news, with comments such as 'Wishing you a swift and complete recovery' and 'I'm glad you're still with us'. Pete & Bas rose to fame in 2017 with their debut single 'Shut Ya Mouth', after Bowditch discovered hip-hop while listening to the genre with his granddaughter.
