King Charles and Queen Camilla will welcome the Sultan of Oman to Windsor this afternoon with a carriage procession, Guard of Honour and gun salutes. The Prince and Princess of Wales will also join the royal welcome for a day of ceremony.
Security Measures in Place
Airspace restrictions and extensive security measures have been introduced for the official visit. Thames Valley Police have warned that anyone breaching temporary airspace restrictions could be arrested.
Officers deployed in Windsor include search teams, the Mounted Section, Roads Policing and armed units. Neighbourhood officers and Project Servator teams are also on the ground engaging with the public. The force said it would use Windsor's CCTV network and Hostile Vehicle Mitigation barriers alongside other measures.
Road Closures and Police Warning
Several road closures and parking restrictions have been introduced, with police warning of possible temporary disruption to roads in and around Windsor. Thames Valley Police's Ch Supt Adrian Hall said the airspace restrictions are part of the "robust security operation" in place.
He added: "As a force, we have a vast amount of experience in policing Royal events in Windsor and significant planning and preparation has gone into this event."
State Banquet This Evening
Royals, politicians and celebrity guests will gather this evening for a state banquet inside Windsor Castle. The visit will see full pomp and pageantry on display throughout the day.
