Former Love Island star Montana Brown has sparked controversy after sharing a rant on Instagram advising parents against buying processed food marketed for children. The 30-year-old mother of two, who has son Jude, two, and daughter Miley, 13 months, with rugby player Mark O'Connor, described such products as "full of c**p" and urged parents to opt for whole foods instead.
In her video, Brown specifically criticised items like "kiddilicious wafers" and chicken casserole pouches, arguing that convenience marketing tricks parents into feeding their children ultra-processed foods. She claimed that these products harm children's palates and that "we need to give kids real food." Brown admitted she used to give pouches to her son Jude but now avoids them for her daughter Miley.
The remarks prompted a wave of backlash from followers who accused her of "mum shaming." One commenter wrote: "This isn't it babe, Mum shaming as a Mum herself is crazy," while another said: "Try being a busy mum with a full-time job... we need a bit of convenience at times." Others defended her, with one supporter saying: "I'd rather meal prep and give them a homemade meal."
