Margot Robbie has sparked fresh speculation about her marriage to British film director Tom Ackerley after her wedding ring was notably absent during a Tuesday appearance on Good Morning Britain. The 35-year-old actress, who is promoting her new film Wuthering Heights, wore her engagement ring on her left hand but placed her wedding band on her right hand, leading fans to question the status of her relationship.
The mystery deepened when US diamond comparison site Diamond Hedge claimed Robbie only wears her wedding ring “on weekends.” In an Instagram post, they noted the 1.5-carat pear-cut diamond is often worn with the point facing down. One fan commented, “I don’t know why she would only wear it at weekends.”
Robbie’s close bond with co-star Jacob Elordi has also fueled romance rumours. The pair, who play Heathcliff and Cathy in Emerald Fennell’s adaptation, have described their on-set relationship as “codependent” and a “mutual obsession.” Robbie revealed she bought matching gold signet rings for herself and Elordi, engraved with their characters’ initials and a quote from the novel.
Despite the speculation, some observers suggest the buzz is a carefully crafted “showmance” to boost ticket sales. During the Good Morning Britain interview, Robbie attributed their closeness to the shared experience of filming on location, saying, “You become a little circus gang.”
