A Married At First Sight USA bride has become the first contestant in the show's history to fall pregnant just weeks into the experiment. The news was revealed in the ninth episode of season 19, which aired in the US in October 2025.
Meghann Turner, who married Derrek Wiedeman at the start of the show, discovered she was pregnant shortly after their honeymoon. On the episode, Derrek announced: 'Where do we start? We found out some pretty crazy news today. Some miraculous news, unexpected news. I think we’re both nervous.' Meghann then added: 'We’re pregnant! And we were not trying — to make that completely known.'
Although the couple were still early in their relationship, Derrek felt the pregnancy changed 'pretty much everything,' while Meghann said they were 'shocked, scared and happy all at once.' Derrek was keen to keep the news secret from the other couples until Meghann had her first doctor's appointment, as she was still in the early stages of pregnancy.
The new season of the American dating show premieres in the UK on Monday, May 18th, on E4 at 8pm, with new episodes airing every Monday to Friday. The series features experts Pastor Cal Roberson, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and Dr. Pia Holec.
