Louis Tomlinson Postpones European Tour Amid Coronavirus Fears

Louis Tomlinson has been forced to postpone his European tour dates to later in the year due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. The 28-year-old singer announced via Instagram on Thursday that his shows in Berlin, Paris, Stockholm and Amsterdam had been rescheduled to August.

Lamenting the situation, the former One Direction star wrote: 'Can't believe I'm having to write this but I'm very sad to say that after two incredible shows so far the rest of my mainland European tour shows have been rescheduled to August.' He added: 'I can't wait to see you all soon. Louis x'

The announcement comes after Tomlinson postponed a scheduled show in Milan, citing fans' 'health and safety' as a priority due to fears of infection. The sold-out concert was the third date on his Walls World Tour, which kicked off in Barcelona on Monday and was set to run through until August.

Meanwhile, The Who also informed fans they would be postponing their UK tour and their Teenage Cancer Trust show at the Royal Albert Hall on March 28. The tour, scheduled to start in Manchester on March 16 and end at Wembley SSE Arena on April 8, has been rescheduled to later in the year. All tickets will be honoured.

In a statement, the band said: 'The fans' safety is paramount and given the developing Coronavirus concerns, the band felt that they had no option but to postpone the shows as a precaution.' Singer Roger Daltrey added that the tour will 'definitely happen', while Pete Townshend said the band 'Haven't reached this decision easily, but given the concerns about public gatherings, we couldn’t go ahead.'
