Lorna Luxe Prepares Emotional Return to 'Ghost House' After Husband's Cancer Death

Influencer Lorna Luxe has revealed she is preparing for an emotional return to the sprawling Warwickshire property she shared with her late husband John Andrews, weeks after his tragic death from cancer. The 43-year-old social media personality will visit their £2.5 million home, famously nicknamed 'Ghost House', for a quarterly progress meeting with builders on Thursday.

Bittersweet Homecoming Without Husband

Luxe shared with her Instagram followers that the prospect of returning to their three-bedroom Warwickshire home without Andrews felt 'bittersweet'. She wrote: 'I'm having to be John today and head to Ghost House in a bit for the quarterly site progress meeting. All the contractors working the site are going to walk me through their plans, and then I get to share anything I want changing. We were both so excited to get back to there. Very bittersweet this.'

In a second emotional post, Luxe appeared to fight back tears while outlining her plans for the site visit. The extensive renovations have stretched months beyond the original six-month timeframe, with completion now expected in August.

Cancer Battle and Tragic Loss

John Andrews, a millionaire banker aged 64, tragically lost his battle with stage four adrenal cancer in February. He was originally diagnosed with a rare form of the illness in 2023, experienced a period of remission, but saw the cancer return and spread to his brain the following year.

Andrews was rushed back to hospital with organ failure following chemotherapy complications and fell ill with sepsis shortly before Christmas. Luxe was told to 'prepare for the worst', but he managed to return home to spend Christmas Day with her before passing away on February 11.

Distinctive 'Ghost House' Property

The couple's distinctive Warwickshire property in sleepy Moreton Paddox features a unique cantilevered design over a three-and-a-half-metre-high slope, making it barely visible from the long private lane approaching the home. The house includes a home cinema finished entirely in concrete and was once described by estate agent The Modern House as a 'minimalist assemblage of geometric forms and natural materials.'

Luxe and Andrews moved out of the property in 2025 while extensive renovations took place, with Luxe now forced to handle the project alone following her husband's death.

Relationship History and Personal Dynamics

The influencer met Andrews when she was 25 during an eight-year stint as a Virgin Atlantic air hostess. The couple married in New York City and lived together in Hove, East Sussex, and later Horsham before settling in Warwickshire.

Luxe previously revealed the couple kept their 16-year marriage vibrant by maintaining separate bathrooms at their rural home, telling followers: 'I don't know if this is an "us" thing, but me and John don't share bathrooms. Maybe this is why we've lasted so long.'

She added: 'One dynamic in our relationship that has never changed is that he organises everything. I just have to turn up and ideally look cute. He's been treating me like a princess since the day we met.'

As Luxe prepares for her difficult return to the property she once shared with her husband, she faces the challenge of completing their dream home renovation while grieving his loss. The emotional journey back to 'Ghost House' represents both a practical necessity and a poignant reminder of the life they planned together.
