Britain's Got Talent saw an emotional moment as YouTube star KSI, 32, was reunited with his childhood idol, the Original Sax Guy, during a recent audition. KSI, who built his empire of 24 million subscribers starting with parodies of the saxophonist in 2011, leaped from his seat in 'pure joy' and wrapped his legs around the contestant, leaving older judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon baffled.
Speaking exclusively about the encounter, KSI said: 'There was a guy who came on who is the original saxophone guy. I recreated his videos. He is the king! I was so gassed to see him. I couldn't believe it. I was so overwhelmed.' He added that the nostalgia hit hard and predicted the moment would go viral on social media.
KSI acknowledged the generational divide on the panel, saying: 'There's quite a bit of that! But again, I feel like all audiences would enjoy that because if you're an older audience and you don't understand something, you're gonna want to learn, right?' He noted that BGT is a family show that works for all ages.
The biggest shock came when KSI vowed to bring back his infamous gold full-body morphsuit for the live semi-finals if his idol got a 'Yes'. Producers are reportedly scrambling to prepare for the potential chaotic performance. An onlooker said: 'It was pure magic. KSI wasn't a judge in that moment, he was just a superfan.
