Kerry Katona has declared her boyfriend Paolo Margaglione is "grounded for life" following a shocking prank that left the singer and reality star less than amused. The couple, who met on the television show Celebs Go Dating, have been inseparable since their romance began, but this week saw a humorous yet tense moment.
Prank Goes Wrong
In a recent interview with new! magazine, Kerry Katona, 45, disclosed that her 34-year-old partner Paolo attempted to prank her by pretending to shave off all his hair. The move did not go down well, leading Kerry to quip that it nearly ended with him "being put on the naughty step." She humorously stated, "Paolo tried to prank me and pretend he shaved all his hair off so he’s been grounded for life and put on the naughty step!"
A Relationship Built on Laughter
Despite the prank mishap, Kerry emphasised that their relationship is full of laughs and genuine connection. She reflected on how meeting Paolo changed her perspective, saying, "Before meeting Paolo, I didn’t realise how starved I was of conversing and knowing someone’s thoughts and feelings. We’re so open and honest with one another, even in awkward moments."
Kerry addressed misconceptions about their reality show origins, noting, "People think because we met on a reality show, it’s all rainbows and unicorns, but this is a real relationship. I would still fancy him even if he had no hair on his head because he has a beautiful soul that outshines everything."
Future Plans and Marriage
The couple has serious intentions for their future together. In a separate interview with OK! magazine, Kerry confirmed their commitment, stating, "We will 100 per cent get married." Paolo echoed this sentiment, adding, "I’m not just doing it for the sake of doing it. We’re trying to build something really special together, so I want it to be the right moment."
Protecting Their Privacy
Kerry also shared a behind-the-scenes moment from Celebs Go Dating, where producers pressured her to declare her love for Paolo on camera. She stood her ground, explaining, "I said, ‘Listen, you guys have taught me to protect my boundaries and this is my boundary. I do love Paolo, but I’m not going to say that on camera because that’s just for me and him, because I’m deadly serious about him. I’m giving my all to him and I wanna keep that just for me and him.'"
Just weeks after the show, Paolo moved in with Kerry, marking a significant step in their relationship. Their focus has consistently been on blending families, as Kerry has five children: Molly, 24, Lilly-Sue, 23, Heidi, 18, Max, 17, and 11-year-old Dylan-Jorge.
Family Dynamics
Paolo acknowledged the challenges of integrating their families, saying, "Blending families can be challenging. You’ve got a lot to think about. The kids have their routine with Kerry and mine have their routine with me. But we’re in a really nice place with the kids." This emphasis on family harmony underscores the depth of their commitment beyond the public eye.
Overall, while Paolo's prank may have earned him a lifetime grounding in Kerry's playful book, it highlights the lighthearted yet sincere bond they share, with plans for marriage and a future built on honesty and laughter.
