ITV viewers have issued a collective complaint about the new reality show The Neighbourhood, branding the cast 'unlikeable' just minutes into its debut. The series, hosted by Graham Norton, features six households moving into a Peak District cul-de-sac to compete in tasks and win over neighbours for a £250,000 cash prize.
Viewers Unimpressed
Taking to social media, fans expressed disappointment. One user asked: 'Is it just me or are most of them unlikeable?' Another echoed: '15 minutes watching for the first time, what an unlikeable bunch.' A third wrote: 'This could have had such potential but aside from the uni boys and scouse girls, everyone is so unlikeable.'
One viewer complained: 'Graham Norton needs to stick to interviewing the amazing guests he gets on his show instead of hosting the awful ITV show. Instead of removing the families on the show they need to remove this s**t from the schedules. I thought ITV was trying to save money.' Another added: 'That's two episodes in now and it's so painfully slow and boring.'
Focus on Contestant Jordan
A particular target of criticism is Jordan from the Lozman-Sturrocks household. In episode two, oil rig worker Jordan suggested spreading rumours about other contestants, leading to a row with his step-father Dave. Fans reacted strongly, with one posting: 'Shame you can't boot individuals out, because...Jordan.' Another said: 'Jordan's doing my head in!' while a third commented: 'That Jordan is a bit of a p***k. Not prepared to listen to other opinions without shouting them down.'
Mixed Reactions
Despite widespread criticism, some viewers enjoyed the show. One wrote: 'The Neighbourhood looks like things are boiling up. I'll be sat for Sunday.' Another joked: 'I hate... but I can't stop watching.' A third commented: 'That challenge was pretty good. I enjoyed it,' referring to the gnome-hunting task.
The Neighbourhood airs on ITV and is available on ITVX.
