The Israeli government has announced it will posthumously honour the late American conservative activist, Charlie Kirk, for his efforts in combating antisemitism. The award will be presented at a major international conference in Jerusalem later this month.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the decision on Wednesday evening. Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, will be recognised at the International Conference on Combating Antisemitism. The event is scheduled for late January in Jerusalem.
This recognition comes just four months after Kirk was assassinated while delivering a speech at an American university. Following his death, Prime Minister Netanyahu paid a poignant tribute, describing Kirk as a "lion-hearted friend" of Israel and a staunch "defender of our common Judeo-Christian civilisation."

The conference, now in its second year, is described by the Israeli government as being dedicated to confronting modern antisemitism and Holocaust denial. It is expected to draw several prominent pro-Israeli leaders from across the globe.
Confirmed attendees include Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and former Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz. The gathering aims to solidify international cooperation and strategies against the rising tide of antisemitic sentiment worldwide.

Charlie Kirk was widely known as a vocal and passionate supporter of Israel. He frequently used biblical scripture and prophecy in his speeches to urge American Christians and political conservatives to stand firmly with the nation against its adversaries.
