West End star Georgina Castle has revealed she went on a 'honeymoon without my husband' as she joined her parents for a sun-soaked break in the Maldives. The 33-year-old actress, known for roles in Mamma Mia!, Dirty Dancing, and Mean Girls, recently married fellow stage actor Simon Lipkin, 39. However, Simon was unable to join her as he is currently performing as Fagin in a production of Oliver! on Shaftesbury Avenue.
Taking to Instagram, Georgina shared highlights from her trip, including photos of herself on pristine beaches, flyboarding, and swimming with sea life. In an amusing caption, she wrote: 'I crashed my parents’ romantic holiday and went on a honeymoon without my husband!!' She added: 'Simon I can’t wait for us to do something amazing soon…with a few less sharks you’ll be relieved to hear.'
Georgina was joined by her father, former British number one tennis star and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Andrew Castle, 62, and her mother Sophia. The family posed for a portrait in snorkeling gear, looking in good spirits. Andrew Castle competed on Strictly in 2008 with professional dancer Ola Jordan, finishing in week seven.
The trip comes three months after Georgina and Simon exchanged vows in London. The couple shared wedding photos, with Georgina praising the city's romance: 'There was something very special about getting married in the heart of the city that we love.' She also thanked her dress designer for creating a party look that allowed her to 'dance the night away.'
Georgina and Simon both performed in stage adaptations of the comedy film Elf in 2022 and 2023. More recently, Georgina starred in a West End musical adaptation of 50 First Dates at The Other Palace in Victoria.
