Gemma Collins Opens Up on Jungle Weight Loss and Eating Trial Success

Gemma Collins has revealed she lost an impressive 1st 4lb (8kg) during her second stint in the I'm A Celebrity jungle, thanks to a strict diet of rice and beans. The TOWIE star, 45, returned to the South African camp after a 13-year hiatus, vowing to redeem herself after lasting just three days in 2014.

Speaking to OK! magazine, the reality star admitted she was surprised at the weight loss, especially as she had been forced to stop taking Mounjaro weight-loss injections following a gallbladder attack before entering the jungle. She described the experience as the 'best digital detox and spiritual healing'.

In Tuesday night's episode, Gemma took on the infamous eating trial alongside Red Dwarf star Craig Charles. The pair privately agreed on how many servings of grim dishes such as Fish Eye Pie, Terror-rine, Brain Freeze, and Bloody Moory Shots they would consume. Despite struggling with some plates, Gemma went head-to-head with Craig in the final round, tackling an entire tray of Bloody Moory shots, leaving the episode on a cliffhanger.

Fans were quick to praise Gemma's performance on social media, with one writing on X: 'Obsessed with Gemma wanting to prove herself after last time,' and another adding: 'Her redemption era begins.' The star had previously faced her fears by arriving in camp via helicopter, a mode of transport that reduced her to tears in 2014.

Reflecting on her past exit, when she quit on day three believing she had malaria, Gemma admitted she has 'hung her head' over the iconic moment ever since. This time around, she is determined to stay the course and is already winning over viewers with her jungle antics.
