David Haye has left the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! camp stunned after a series of controversial comments about women's looks and personalities. The former boxer, 45, made the remarks during a discussion about a potential post-show party on the ITV reality programme.
Haye suggested his girlfriend Sian Osborne could cook for the event, describing her as 'tall, blue eyes' and 'lovely', before adding: 'She's got the personality of a proper ugly bird.' When Scarlett Moffatt challenged him, Haye elaborated, claiming that 'most ugly girls realise they gotta have a personality' because they are 'not aesthetically amazing'. He went on to say that 'super pretty girls are just idiots' who 'don't have to have a personality'.
Moffatt called the comments 'out of order', while actress Beverley Callard labelled them 'complete claptrap' and 'sexist'. Haye then shifted to discussing nightclub door policies, claiming that only 'pretty girls' were allowed in, leaving their 'ugly friend behind'. Callard retorted that Haye was 'digging a bigger hole' for himself.
Haye, who is in a non-monogamous relationship with model Sian Osborne, has previously been linked to singer Una Healy. Show hosts Ant and Dec also weighed in, with Dec noting the comments 'might be interpreted as sexist' and Ant saying Haye made 'nine jaws drop to the floor' without throwing a punch.
