David Haye has sparked outrage after making remarks about women during the latest episode of I’m A Celebrity All Stars, drawing criticism from viewers and ITV star Denise Welch.
The former boxer commented on his girlfriend Sian Osbourne, claiming she had the “personality of a proper ugly bird” and went on to describe what he termed “Ugly Duckling syndrome”. He suggested that less attractive women develop stronger personalities while “super pretty girls” are “just idiots”.
Haye also recounted an anecdote about nightclubs allegedly allowing pretty girls entry while leaving their “ugly friend” behind. His comments were met with immediate disapproval on social media, with many branding him “vile” and “insecure”.
Loose Women panellist Denise Welch tweeted her anger, questioning why Haye was invited back as an “All Star” and calling him a “complete k**b”.
Fans echoed her sentiment, with one writing that his comments were “disrespectful and dehumanising” and urging more people to challenge casual sexism. The backlash continues to grow as the show airs on ITV.
