Sir Idris Elba, Alison Hammond and Katherine Ryan are among the stars set to appear in sketches for this year's Red Nose Day, the BBC has announced. The Comic Relief: Funny For Money show will air live on Friday, featuring a mix of comedy, performances and celebrity appearances.
Davina McCall will host the fundraising event, joined by Ryan, Nick Mohammed, Joel Dommett and Catherine Tate. Highlights include 'The Bank Job', a heist sketch starring Elba alongside Hammond, Dermot O'Leary and Chris McCausland.
Other segments include 'The Traitors: The Movie – The Sequel', a parody of the BBC reality series with Anna Friel as Claudia Winkleman, and 'Withering Heights', a spoof of the recent Wuthering Heights film featuring Ryan and Jon Richardson. An Amandaland-inspired sketch will see Lucy Punch and Philippa Dunne encounter multiple famous Amandas, including Amanda Holden.
Appeal films, including one presented by Michael Sheen, will highlight Comic Relief's work in the UK and internationally. Radio 1's Greg James is also cycling 1,000km from Weymouth to Edinburgh to raise funds.
Comic Relief: Funny For Money airs live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 7pm on Friday, and will also be livestreamed on the BBC's YouTube channel for the first time.
