Coleen Rooney has continued her 40th birthday celebrations with a day at the Grand National at Aintree Racecourse alongside her husband, former footballer Wayne Rooney. The couple arrived in style, with Coleen wearing a long cream dress and Wayne in a suit, as they headed to a private box in the Princess Royal Stand.
According to a source, the box was unnamed to ensure privacy, with two waitresses guarding the door and security on the balcony. Inside, tables were decorated with clear balloons printed with 'Coleen x'. The source said: 'Her return to Aintree has certainly had a shroud of secrecy around it.'
Coleen turned heads in a Roland Mouret butter yellow jersey draped waterfall maxi dress, accessorised with a Bottega Veneta gold knot clutch and oversized gold shell earrings. The couple watched Britain's most famous jumps race together, with onlookers describing them as 'happy and cosy'.
This is the latest in a series of celebrations for Coleen, who turned 40 last week. She previously held a party at her mansion on Good Friday, attended by celebrities including Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, and Darren Fletcher, as well as WAG pals Annie Kilner and Abbey Clancy. Coleen had told OK! Magazine: 'I love birthdays and a celebration. I have decided to enjoy a couple of different celebrations with family and friends over the year.'
Coleen is no stranger to Aintree, having been a regular attendee in her younger days, earning the nickname 'Queen of Aintree'. She also presented the best dressed racegoer award for several years from 2006. Her return to the course marks a milestone birthday outing, delighting fans who have seen her less frequently at the races in recent years.
