Beverley Callard has confirmed she will not attend the live final of I'm a Celebrity... All Stars tonight due to health reasons. The 69-year-old Coronation Street star said she was 'absolutely gutted' after being advised against travel. 'Yesterday, I should have flown to England to get ready for the I'm a Celeb final. I was so excited and looking forward to it, but on medical advice, I can't go,' she told fans.
Callard was forced to exit the pre-recorded jungle portion of the show early after experiencing a 'funny turn'. It later emerged she had breast cancer, which she was unaware of at the time. 'Of course, I didn't know then that I had cancer, but I just knew that it was the last couple of days there that I hadn't felt very well,' she explained.
Despite her absence, Callard plans to join via Zoom to speak with fellow campmates. She added: 'So I've got to make the best of a bad job but I am resting and I am doing as I am told.' Co-star Ashley Roberts sent support: 'Bless ya Bev. We will miss ya.'
The rest of the cast are expected to attend, including finalists Scarlett Moffatt, Mo Farah, Harry Redknapp, Adam Thomas and Craig Charles. The season has been marked by clashes, including a row between Adam Thomas and Jimmy Bullard, who reportedly initially refused to attend the final but later hinted he would appear.
