A family-run independent business that operates a chain of pharmacies in Scotland has plunged into administration, leaving patients with an update on services.
Administration Details
Amiry & Gilbride Healthcare Limited (AGH), the holding company behind 13 stores across Scotland, entered administration on April 29, according to an order from the Court of Session. The company, launched in 2023, also runs two prescription collection units offering locker services and free medicine pouching. However, the two subsidiaries—LP North 14 Limited and LP North 15 Limited—are not affected by the administration and are expected to be sold, with pharmacies continuing to trade as normal.
Joint Administrators' Statement
The joint administrators stated they are working to establish a new governance structure for the subsidiaries, which will continue under director John Gilbride and his team. They said: "The joint administrators will work with John and his team to gain a clear understanding of the financial position of the AGH group. Once complete they will then look to sell the group via a marketing process. Interested parties are encouraged to make contact with the joint administrators without delay."
Background on the Business
Amiry & Gilbride Pharmacy and Travel Clinic describes itself as a family-run independent business. Its website explains: "In 2023, Mahyar and Sara Nickkho-Amiry partnered with John Gilbride to take over pharmacies being sold off by a large corporation." The head office is in Glasgow, with branches in Paisley, Lanarkshire, and the Highlands. Patients are assured that services will continue uninterrupted during the administration process.
