King Charles May Miss Harry and Meghan Due to Diary Clash, Ex-Butler Says
King Charles May Miss Harry and Meghan Due to Diary Clash

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are preparing for a UK visit next month with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, but a former royal butler has revealed that a diary clash could prevent King Charles from seeing them. Grant Harrold, who worked for the King from 2004 to 2011, told the Daily Express that while the monarch will prioritize the reunion, his summer schedule in Scotland might pose an obstacle.

Visit Purpose and Family Reunion Hopes

The main purpose of the trip is for Harry to attend the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games, but it is also believed to be an opportunity to show Archie and Lilibet a glimpse of British life. The children have not been in the UK since 2022, and King Charles reportedly wants to reconnect with his grandchildren, having not seen them in nearly four years. A meeting between the Sussexes and the King and Queen Camilla is considered highly likely.

Diary Clash as Potential Hurdle

Harrold stated, “I think the only thing that will stop it happening is if there is a diary clash. The King goes up to Scotland for the summer, but I’m sure he will do everything he can to make it work. This will be extremely important to the King and he will make it a priority.” He added that he would be amazed if the families did not meet, calling it a crucial step in their journey to reconnect. Harry last saw his father in September 2025, while Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet have not seen the monarch since 2022.
