The Ordinary has launched a new serum containing volufiline, a plant-derived molecule often described as a 'filler in a bottle'. The product is designed to target volume loss in areas such as the under-eyes, cheeks, temples and smile lines, offering a non-invasive alternative to dermal fillers.
A beauty editor in her 40s tested the serum over a month, applying it morning and evening after moisturiser. The formula combines volufiline with pal-isoleucine to support collagen and elastin production, aiming to plump and soften wrinkles. The serum has a runny, oily consistency and may cause a slight tingling sensation, which the brand states is normal.
After consistent use, the editor noticed visible improvements around the orbital area, with plumper under-eyes and reduced shadows. Her cheeks felt firmer and smile lines appeared softer. However, she cautions that topical products cannot replicate the results of injectable fillers.
The serum is available as a ready-to-use formula, avoiding the need for DIY mixing. The Ordinary recommends using it sparingly due to its concentrated nature.
