Mel B Chooses Supplements Over HRT for Menopause Symptoms

Mel B has revealed she is using vitamin supplements rather than hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to manage her menopause symptoms. The former Spice Girl, who turns 51 on May 29, has become a spokesperson for the Revive Collagen Menopause Range, which she already used daily before the partnership.

Speaking at a Revive Collagen event, Mel said she considered HRT when she turned 50 and began experiencing menopausal symptoms. However, she criticised the lack of mandatory menopause training for GPs, calling it 'disgusting' and arguing that it should be compulsory given it is a 'universal woman's problem'.

Mel, who has three children, Phoenix, 27, Angel, 19, and Madison, 14, said she takes a sachet of the collagen supplement in the morning and another at night. She noted that her husband, hairstylist Rory McPhee, is happy because she is no longer sweating at night. 'I feel like I'm not messing with my hormones and just feeding them what they need,' she added.

The singer, who lives on a farm in West Yorkshire, said women should not be ashamed of the menopause and should celebrate it. She contrasted her openness with her own mother's reluctance to discuss the topic, saying she wants her daughters to feel able to talk to her about it.

Mel, who was awarded an MBE in 2022 for her work with domestic violence victims, said the menopause 'landed in my lap' when she turned 50. The Revive Collagen Menopause Range includes three products with ingredients such as hydrolysed marine collagen, inositol, and vitamins to support skin, reduce hot flushes and fatigue.
