Demi Moore and Zoe Saldaña have been appointed as the latest global ambassadors for Lancôme, joining an illustrious roster that includes Julia Roberts, Olivia Rodrigo, and Christy Turlington. The two actresses are spearheading the brand's new Longevity MD line, with Moore, 63, announced as the face of the Reset cream.
Moore on Aging and Self-Care
Moore, renowned for her age-defying appearance and flawless skin, shared her approach to maintaining a youthful look by emphasizing the self-care aspect of beauty. She revealed that her Oscar-nominated role in the 2024 film The Substance influenced her perspective on aging and beauty standards. The gory body horror film tackles the issue of unrealistic Hollywood beauty standards, with Moore playing Elisabeth Sparkle, a fading film star fired after turning 50. Desperate to reclaim her youth, she discovers a black-market drug that creates a younger, more beautiful version of herself but comes with gruesome conditions.
Speaking to ELLE, Moore explained how starring in the film reinforced her love of skincare to keep looking strong and healthy, declaring, "Aging is a gift." She said, "Filming The Substance was a very intense, visceral experience that really highlighted the dangers of self-judgment. The most beautiful thing we can do is care for ourselves with kindness. I've viewed wellness and skin care as an act of gratitude, but this experience helped underscore that. I want to use products that work with my skin to help it stay resilient and healthy."
Sharing the secret behind her youthful appearance, the Ghost star said, "I've become very intentional about my evening routine. Taking the time to truly transition from the chaos of the day into a state of rest has been life-changing, and part of that is doing my skin care. It's the small, daily acts of self-care that lead to the most enduring results." She connected with the new Lancôme collection because of its emphasis on longevity and self-care, adding, "Lately for me, I've come to view longevity as sort of an alignment. I say a lot now that it's not about the amount of time; it's about the quality of time you have. Aging is a gift, and longevity helps you to thrive as you age, to really invest in your future. And with Longevity MD from Lancôme, I've been using the Reset Cream for a few months now. It feels like I'm investing in the future of my skin, and really supporting it from within."
Lancôme Global Brand President Vania Lacascade expressed excitement over the partnership, stating, "We are absolutely delighted to welcome Demi Moore to our Collective. A true pioneer, Demi embodies a remarkable resilience and has always forged her own path with fearlessness and conviction. Her vision of beauty as a form of self-determination at every stage of life deeply resonates with Lancôme. We admire her unapologetic femininity, and her ability to inspire without compromise. There is a strength in how Demi embraces every chapter of her journey, challenging traditional narratives around age and power. She has never followed a predictable path, and her constant evolution proves that experience doesn't diminish beauty, it enriches it."
Moore added in her own statement, "Lancôme stands for beauty on every level beyond just the surface. It stands for progress, for the science of possibility and for the belief that women deserve to feel beautiful and uplifted at every life stage. Learning to accept oneself is a journey and it is my honor to partner with a house that celebrates the same spirit. Beauty is an act of self-care, self-love, and self-acceptance and that is what I hope to embody in our partnership."
Saldaña on Natural Beauty
Joining Moore in fronting the Absolue Longevity MD campaign is actress Zoe Saldaña, 47, who is the face of the Intercept duo, a serum and cream targeted at those aged 35 to 55. Opening up about becoming an ambassador, she called it perfect timing and said it felt like a true partnership because Lancôme listened to her ideas. Speaking to Harper's Bazaar, she said, "I really feel like this partnership came at the right time, because it came at a time in my life where I was not expecting it. I feel beautiful, and I feel like not only am I working with what I have, I'm celebrating it, I'm embracing it, I'm taking care of it and that comes with experience, and that comes also with knowledge, right? With education."
The Avatar star said her passion for skincare began when she entered her 40s, and her routine is essential for maintaining firm, flawless skin. While Hollywood is rife with cosmetic procedures, Saldaña expressed a preference for natural beauty, admitting she doesn't even wear makeup except for mascara. "I really love it when women work with what they have," she said. "There's something really beautiful and alluring about a woman who truly sees herself in the mirror, likes it, and just complements it, complements her appearance, but doesn't try to change it or transform it dramatically. I consider natural beauties like Sienna Miller, Whoopi Goldberg an absolute natural beauty. Less is always more for women like them."
The Oscar winner said growing up in the Dominican Republic showed her a more abundant definition of beauty, encompassing all shapes, skin colors, hair textures, and body shapes. However, after moving to Los Angeles, she became aware that she didn't fit stereotypical ideals and found it frustrating to be passed over as a Black Latina woman. "I didn't see me in those spaces. I always noticed that imbalance," she told PEOPLE. "And very early on, I knew it wasn't because of me. It was because of other people's problems and perception. So, therefore, every time someone would come to me and say, 'We're going to go traditional,' I knew what that meant. And what was frustrating was the fact that those were still very powerful entities that controlled the narrative."
The Guardians of the Galaxy star viewed it as a power dynamic rather than discrimination, saying, "I never accepted it for myself. I wasn't a victim of it. I was never going to participate in it. For me, it was just, 'This is the game of chess, and you're cheating. Because if you play fair, you have a 50% chance or more that I'm going to win.'"
Lacascade praised Saldaña in a statement, saying, "She brings a grounded authority and a rare intellectual depth that resonate deeply with today's women, who seek substance over surface. Beyond her energy and grace, it is her unwavering sense of self and her commitment to meaningful storytelling that make her such a powerful voice for Lancôme."
