Air fryers have become a staple in many UK kitchens, but cleaning them can be a challenge. A TikTok user has shared a simple method using two common kitchen items that reportedly leaves the appliance looking 'as good as new'.
The hack, demonstrated by @TheTummyFairy, involves adding a squirt of washing-up liquid and a quarter of a cup of baking soda to the air fryer tray. Boiling water is then poured in until the tray is fully submerged, causing the mixture to bubble up and tackle grease.
After letting it sit for 20 minutes, the user drains the liquid and rinses the tray with warm water. The result, they claim, is a tray that looks 'brand new' with virtually no scrubbing required.
An alternative method using a dishwashing tablet was also shared by TikTok user @lifebytheparsons. She places the tablet in the tray, adds boiling water, and closes the drawer (with the appliance switched off) to allow steaming. After 20 minutes, the grime is softened and requires minimal scrubbing.
