In the name of this review, I drank a little too much wine last night. Feeling slightly jaded and rather depleted this morning, I tore into my packet of VYVE electrolyte lollies. Ordinarily, I am partial to an oral rehydration sachet after an evening on the sauce. It works a treat but tastes hideously brackish and metallic. A necessary evil.
A genius idea
VYVE's world-first hydration lollipops are therefore, to my mind, a genius idea. In three flavours – watermelon berry, cola and peach iced tea – they are a pleasure to ingest but feel like they're doing you good. Which they are.
Sugar-free and packed with sodium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, chloride, Vitamin C and Vitamin B12, they provide a hit of hydration without you having to do something as menial as mixing powder with water. I felt instantly better after my watermelon berry lolly – fuzzy head banished.
Beyond hangovers
Of course, reaching for an electrolyte lollipop is a sign of the ridiculous times we find ourselves in; if we're too busy to walk to the kitchen tap, things have gone seriously awry. Appease your guilt by knowing that at least one per cent of all revenue goes to a nonprofit called Water to help fund projects across the world.
Of course, these aren't just for hangovers; they're great after a workout, or simply for an afternoon energy boost. I've become quite addicted.
