Adam Sandler showcased the results of his health journey while stepping out in Los Angeles on Friday. The 59-year-old comedian enjoyed a father-daughter outing with his eldest child, Sadie, 20, in the upscale Brentwood neighborhood over the weekend.
Signature Style with a Slimmer Silhouette
For their outing, the beloved Billy Madison star wore his signature baggy clothes but still looked noticeably slimmer after reportedly losing over 25 pounds. Sandler opted for a patterned button-down shirt paired with gray sweat shorts and colorful sneakers.
Family Support for a Healthier Lifestyle
During a red carpet appearance for the premiere of his comedy special two years ago, Sandler opened up about how his two daughters were strong supporters in his pursuit of a healthier lifestyle. 'They always look out for me and my health just like I used to with my dad,' he told People at the New York City premiere of Adam Sandler: Love You in August 2024.
Sandler shares daughters Sadie and Sunny, 17, with his wife Jackie Sandler. Reflecting on his close relationship with his late father Stanley Sandler, he said, 'You go, "Man, I want this guy around," so I used to scream at my dad to quit smoking, and my kids scream at me to just calm down and try to eat a little more like a normal person.'
Struggles with Fitness and Diet
In August 2024, Sandler appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, where he opened up about transforming his health and physique through working out and eating healthier—something he admitted he struggled with. 'I used to take working out so serious,' he said. 'And now I can't f***ing do it.' He added, 'I play hoop and then I eat. Every time I'm eating, I'm going, "What are you doing, man? You don't need to do this." I can't stop, just got a little bit of thickness all over... Now it's f***ing rough.'
He also revealed that his daughter Sadie convinced him to rehire the personal trainer who worked with him to get in shape for his 2008 film You Don't Mess with the Zohan. 'My kids, one daughter, Sadie's always saying, "Dad, get the trainer from the Zohan. Why would you ever give that up? Why did you stop?"' Sandler recalled telling his daughter, 'It's a lot of work.' He told her he wouldn't be able to continue losing weight past a certain point. 'I just can't get back in there,' he said. 'She's right about everything, [but] I don't promise her. I go, "Let me think about that. That's a good idea."'
Past Weight Loss Attempts
Sandler previously opened up about how certain weight loss methods didn't work for him. 'I did the intermittent fasting,' he said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2020. 'I allowed myself six hours a day to eat and just got so excited during those six hours that I ate a lot of pizzas.' He continued, 'I kept looking at the clock going, "Alright, you got 40 minutes left to eat," and I would go bananas.'
Recent Comedy and Speculation
Sandler's major weight loss transformation comes after he wrote and performed a hypothetical comedy song titled Grandma's on Ozempic during his You're My Best Friend Tour late last year. The star hasn't spoken about using the injectable, and there's no indication his slim down comes from the GLP-1 medication.
