Woman's Five-Step Breathing Hack Promises Instant Sleep

A woman has shared a five-step breathing technique that she claims works like magic to help people fall asleep instantly. The method, which she learned from best-selling author Dr Joe Dispenza, has garnered over 8.1 million views on TikTok.

Olivia Hedlund posted a video explaining the technique, which involves taking five slow, deep breaths while clenching the body. She advises inhaling slowly through the nose, flexing the abs and chest, and imagining the breath travelling up the spine to the middle of the head. The breath is held for as long as possible before being released.

Hedlund said she told two friends about the hack, and they reported falling asleep 'literally instantly'. The technique is part of Dr Dispenza's pineal gland meditation approach, which uses specific methods to encourage relaxation and better sleep.

The NHS notes that occasional sleepless nights are not usually a concern, but persistent lack of sleep can affect daily life, relationships, and overall health. Many TikTok users commented that the technique worked for them, with one saying it helped after years of poor sleep.
