Pink Rings in 2026 from Hospital Bed After Neck Surgery, Vows to 'Leave Hurt Behind'
Pink's New Year message from hospital after neck surgery

Global pop superstar Pink has welcomed the new year from an unexpected location: a hospital room. The singer, whose real name is Alecia Hart, underwent neck surgery just before the turn of the year and shared a reflective and hopeful message with her fans from her bed.

A New Year's Eve in Hospital

In a post made on Thursday 1 January 2026, the performer known for her high-flying stage acrobatics revealed she was recovering from a significant medical procedure. She posted a photograph showing her in a hospital gown with a large dressing on her neck.

"I want to say Happy New Year's to everyone," she wrote to her Instagram followers. "I am so happy to say goodbye to the snake year and welcome in the horse. I am leaving behind all of my hurt in 2025."

Reflecting on a 'Doozy' of a Year

Pink described the past year as "a doozy for all of us," noting it had run "the spectrum from absolutely devastating to mildly annoying." Despite the challenges, she found moments of beauty amidst the turmoil.

"I've realized dreams this year, as well as nightmares," she stated. "And I end the year giving reverence to, paying attention to, and to fixing my body."

The physical fix she referred to was her surgery. With characteristic wit, she explained, "It may not be a fancy facelift, but I am getting two new shiny discs in my neck." She quipped that "Rock 'n' roll is a contact sport," a nod to the physical demands of her electrifying performances.

A Resolution for Health and Happiness

The experience served as a powerful reminder for the singer to appreciate her physical form. "A new scar, a new reminder, that I appreciate this vessel that I have and use it for all it's worth," she reflected.

Spending New Year's Eve alone in her room while her family—husband Carey Hart and their two children, Willow and Jameson—were snowboarding, Pink made a conscious decision for the year ahead. "I know that 2026 is going to be better because that is the choice that I have made," she declared.

She extended this wish for self-determination to others, acknowledging it isn't a universal reality. The outspoken advocate for women's health and reproductive rights pledged, "I will work this year to help preserve the choices of others to make for themselves and their families."

Her message concluded with a firm resolution: "I choose joy and I leave behind the hurt. I'm going to choose positive thoughts over negative ones... I'm going to reclaim my wild. And I'm going to keep searching for the light, even as I experience the darkness."

The surgery and recovery come after the singer, who has also publicly discussed facing antisemitism, was forced to cancel several tour dates last year, tearfully revealing she needed the medical intervention.
