Nicola Roberts has shared that she underwent surgery at 22 weeks pregnant to help keep her baby in. The 40-year-old Girls Aloud singer posted an update on Instagram, saying doctors instructed her to rest during the third trimester after the procedure.
In her post, Roberts said: 'I’ve been under instruction not to do much since I had the surgery at 22 weeks to help keep baby in. Hitting that 34 week mark was a big relief. I now only have a few weeks left.' She added that she would miss her bump but will be glad to feel more comfortable.
Earlier in January, Roberts had to pull out of her West End role as Persephone in Hadestown due to a small surgical procedure. She expressed disappointment, saying she was 'heartbroken' not to complete her final week and thanked fans for their support.
Roberts announced her pregnancy on Christmas Day with fiancé Mitch Hahn, 37. She later celebrated with a Bridgerton-themed baby shower at The Lanesborough, attended by bandmate Kimberley Walsh and presenter Laura Whitmore, who is also expecting.
