A mother who was left with what she called a 'Ken doll bulge' after weight loss surgery says she can finally wear a bikini after having the excess skin removed. Jeni Dubock, 41, from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, paid £10,000 for gastric sleeve surgery in the UK in January 2023, which halved her weight from 22st to 11st in less than two years.
Loose skin after dramatic weight loss
After dropping eight dress sizes, the mum-of-three was left with significant loose skin and travelled to Turkey for a tummy tuck and breast lift in December 2024. Before those operations, the size 10 former size 26 woman felt self-conscious about a fatty pouch around her pubic area, which she says became even more prominent after her weight loss.
The children's charity manager said her private area looked like a 'monstrous bulge' following her second operation. She resorted to wearing compression pants to try to hide the two-and-a-half inch bump under tight clothing.
Monsplasty in Turkey
Determined to rejuvenate what she nicknamed her 'mit moo', Jeni underwent a monsplasty, or pubic lift, in May 2026. The procedure involves removing excess fat and saggy skin from the fleshy mound over the pubic bone. She paid £1,600 for the surgery in Turkey, where surgeons performed liposuction in her pubic area.
Jeni said: "I didn't have one issue after the plastic surgery, but I just had this monstrous bulge almost straight away. Mine was such a fat pouch, because I was pulled so tight with my tummy (tuck), it just made it stick out even more."
'Life-changing' results
She added: "When I first woke up, I thought it was really swollen but it never went down. Even though I'd lost all of that weight, I couldn't wear a bikini because it hung out the side. It literally haunted me. It looked like a Ken doll, where Ken has that really large pouch."
Jeni said she felt ashamed and deformed, and told her husband she was going back to Turkey to get it fixed. After the monsplasty, she described her results as 'life-changing', saying: "It was an instant, 'oh my God this has disappeared', it was incredible. It just looks normal now, I don't feel like I have a bulge."
She wore a bikini every day on a family holiday to Cyprus five weeks after the surgery, which she said was the first time in her entire life. Jeni concluded: "This surgery and weight-loss journey has changed my life. I do feel really proud of my journey. Do whatever you need to do to make yourself feel good."
