The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton has said she is recovering at home after spending 18 days in hospital following brain surgery. The reality TV personality was admitted to A&E earlier this month with a severe attack of trigeminal neuralgia, a chronic condition that causes intense facial pain.
In an Instagram Stories post on Sunday, Chilton shared a bathroom selfie and wrote: "After 18 days in hospital finally getting this bath I had dreamed about. Still a recovery to go but at least I'm with my little Penny again!" She added that the photo was filtered, saying: "I look like horrendous s*** if not." She gave birth to her daughter Penelope in October 2024.
The surgery came weeks after singer Conor Maynard publicly mocked Chilton for becoming tearful during a TV interview about her daughter's paternity. Maynard, who Chilton claims is the father, has denied paternity and says two DNA tests confirm he is not. Chilton maintains the tests are wrong.
In a since-deleted social media post, Maynard played a clip of Chilton crying and appeared on screen holding a tissue box, saying: "Here's an invisible tissue for your invisible tears." He also played a clip of his song with lyrics including "please shut up with a cherry on top."
Chilton, who has previously spoken about having brain surgery in her twenties for the condition, which is sometimes called the "suicide disease," thanked the neuro team at QE Hospital in a post before the operation. She wrote: "Having surgery on your brain is always daunting, however this has long term relief and allows me to get on with my life."
