Dr Hilary Jones made a triumphant return to ITV's Lorraine on Thursday (January 23) after undergoing foot surgery. The 71-year-old health expert had been absent for weeks due to health issues, but strode back into the studio wearing an orthopaedic boot.
Sharing an update on his recovery, Dr Hilary said: 'I had a little disagreement with my Achilles tendon and a little bony spur at the back of my heel, so that had to be gone.' He noted that the operation served as a reminder of the patient experience.
When asked by host Lorraine Kelly when he could ditch the boot, Dr Hilary joked: 'I come out of high heels in about two weeks, I adjust the heel height every week.' He admitted the situation was 'driving me crazy' but added he could now shower, which was good.
Dr Hilary expressed his pleasure at returning to ITV, and Lorraine revealed that staff had frequently been asking about him. The GP, also a familiar face on Good Morning Britain, previously opened up about his battle with gout, warning viewers about its resurgence due to modern lifestyles.
