Katherine Ryan undergoes 'serious' surgery two months after giving birth

Katherine Ryan has revealed she underwent 'pretty serious surgery' just two months after giving birth to her fourth child, Holland Juliette, in October. The 42-year-old comedian, known for her appearances on Mock the Week, discussed the procedure on her podcast Telling Everybody Everything.

Ryan explained she chose a surgeon in York who shares her 'British, Irish background', emphasising the importance of finding a doctor who understands her desired aesthetic. She noted that previous experiences with other practitioners left her looking like a different person, whereas she now wants to enhance her own features.

The surgery took three and a half hours, and Ryan brought her baby and husband Bobby Kootstra along. She explained that while she could not breastfeed immediately after the procedure, she had pumped milk for a maternity nurse and resumed breastfeeding shortly after returning home.

Ryan hinted she might create a 'mini docuseries' about the surgery, but did not disclose the specific procedure. She praised the surgeon's before-and-after gallery and said knowing someone who had been a client gave her confidence in the decision.
