Singer Jessie J has issued a powerful and furious response to online trolls who have cruelly claimed she fabricated her breast cancer diagnosis. The confrontation comes after the artist was forced to cancel tour dates to undergo a second surgical procedure.
A Courageous Battle and Vile Accusations
The 37-year-old Price Tag singer, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, received the heart-wrenching news of an 'early' breast cancer diagnosis in June 2025. Shortly after, she underwent an operation to remove one of her breasts. After months of recovery, Jessie recently informed her fans that she required a 'second surgery', leading to the cancellation of shows.
However, instead of receiving universal support, the star found herself confronting a wave of online abuse, with some individuals accusing her of 'lying' about her very real health crisis.
"I Can Still Scrap": The Singer's Fiery Retort
Addressing the accusations head-on in a recent Instagram story, Jessie J did not hold back. Following a separate revelation about her favourite coat being stolen from her car, she added a pointed message for her detractors.
"Also if you have or do comment on the internet that I lied/lie about having cancer. Come say it to my face on the street," she challenged. "I might be one boob down. But I can still scrap."
The Complex Journey of a Second Surgery
When she first announced the need for further surgery, Jessie sought to reassure fans that it was "nothing too serious" but necessary by the end of the year. The situation, however, proved to be more complicated than initially anticipated.
In a candid Instagram video, the singer explained that her original surgeon found the procedure "more complex" than expected and referred her to a different specialist. This new surgeon advised that the operation could be postponed.
"Obviously I'd already cancelled my tour so I was obviously frustrated but again it's out of my control and two different surgeons had two different opinions," she shared with her followers.
Speaking at the Music Industry Trust Awards, Jessie J reflected on how her diagnosis has profoundly altered her perspective on life. "This year has changed my whole world," she said emotionally. "My perspective, what battles I'm going to pick, when death comes knocking at your door, and you kind of have to answer and f****** kick it away, it just changes everything."
