Jessie J Hits Back at Trolls Claiming She Lied About Cancer

Jessie J has robustly responded to online trolls who falsely claimed she never had cancer. The 37-year-old singer, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, underwent an operation in June to remove one of her breasts after being diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

After months of recovery, she recently had to cancel tour shows as she announced she would need a second surgery. However, the star has been forced to confront online accusations that she is lying about her diagnosis.

Addressing the comments in an Instagram story post today, Jessie hit back: 'Also if you have or do comment on the internet that I lied/lie about having cancer. Come say it to my face on the street. I might be one boob down. But I can still scrap.'

When she first revealed the need for a second surgery, Jessie reassured fans that the procedure was 'nothing too serious' but 'has to be done by the end of the year'. However, she later disclosed that it was more complex than initially thought and had been postponed.

Speaking candidly about how the diagnosis has affected her life during an emotional address at the Music Industry Trust Awards, Jessie said: 'This year has changed my whole world. My perspective, what battles I'm going to pick, when death comes knocking at your door, and you kind of have to answer and f****** kick it away, it just changes everything.'
