Jenny McCarthy's Weight Loss After 9 Dental Surgeries

Model's Health Ordeal Leads to Unplanned Weight Loss

Jenny McCarthy, the former Playboy cover girl, has experienced significant weight reduction following an extensive health battle involving nine separate surgeries throughout the year. The 53-year-old television personality recently displayed her slender figure in an unconventional 2025 Christmas card photoshoot with husband Donnie Wahlberg.

Dental Implant Crisis Sparks Medical Nightmare

The health crisis began with what seemed like a routine dental procedure that turned into a medical ordeal. McCarthy disclosed to People magazine that a failed ceramic dental implant triggered a cascade of health complications, including a severe bone infection that required extensive treatment.

"I've had nine surgeries this year, on my mouth," McCarthy revealed. "I had one infection that turned into another and another, and then I had these growths show up on my eyeballs." The situation became so severe that her teeth and implants began falling out, requiring doctors to dig into her jawbone and chip away infected tissue.

The medical complications made eating nearly impossible for McCarthy. "All of the swelling and pain kept her from eating enough calories," she explained. "I've been on antibiotics for a year, and have had to eat soft foods only."

Painful Symptoms and Recovery Journey

McCarthy described experiencing multiple alarming symptoms throughout her health battle. "Every time we thought it had cleared up, it came back again," she recalled. "I'd be in massive pain with my jaw swelling up, and at the same time I was getting these growths popping up on my eyeballs."

The Masked Singer star emphasised the severity of her condition by stating, "People should actually feel a little sorry for me! I have been unlucky." Her comments come after she previously denied using weight loss drugs like Ozempic, preferring what she called a "permanent solution" to weight management.

Despite the challenges, McCarthy appears to be turning a corner in her recovery. "I think I'm past the storm," she says optimistically. "I'm about to chow down!" This positive outlook extends to her holiday plans with Wahlberg, where she hopes to finally enjoy traditional Thanksgiving turkey.

Maintaining Relationships During Health Crisis

The health struggles have made quality time with her husband particularly precious. "It's been a little tricky-wicky getting together," McCarthy noted about their busy schedules. "I've been shooting The Masked Singer in Los Angeles, he's been in Canada with Boston Blue."

She added that their upcoming holidays would carry special significance this year. "Thanksgiving and Christmas will mean more to us than ever this year. It's just me and him, at home in Chicago, me cooking a bird, and enjoying each other."

The couple, who married in 2014 and renew their vows annually, have been supporting each other through the difficult period, with recent Instagram posts showing them cooking together during her recovery.
