Glossop Man, 25, Diagnosed with Terminal Brain Tumour

Jack Rawding-Revell, a 25-year-old from Glossop, near Tameside, has been diagnosed with an aggressive and terminal brain tumour after experiencing symptoms including vomiting at work. He said he 'knew something wasn't right' when he began being sick at his workplace, following months of vision problems.

Diagnosis and Reaction

After a CT scan revealed a tumour, Jack was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a fast-growing and highly aggressive grade 4 brain tumour. 'I went to get checked out, they found a tumour during a CT and a week later I found out I had terminal Glioblastoma,' he told Derbyshire Live. Despite the devastating news, Jack remains positive and is focused on helping others in similar situations.

Treatment and Advocacy

Jack has been offered a place on a trial drug that he hopes will prolong his life. 'The news was tragic, but I am being put on a new trial drug which will hopefully prolong my life,' he said. He has started posting daily videos to support others facing the same diagnosis. 'I'm posting videos every day to help other people in the same position. I want to help them feel less scared and I started the videos to also tell everyone that I'm alright,' Jack added.

Community Support

Jack's friends have rallied to support him financially and emotionally. Emma Power, a friend who set up a GoFundMe page, said: 'As Jack prepares to begin treatment, our priority is to ensure that he and his family can focus on what matters most - spending precious time together, making memories, and facing the road ahead with as little financial worry as possible.' Donations will cover travel to appointments, household expenses, treatment-related costs, and creating special family moments. 'Jack has always been the life of the party and we want to raise some money for him to have a few more,' she added.

Fundraising Success

The GoFundMe page has raised over £22,000, a figure that has 'knocked expectations out the park,' according to Jack. 'I am so grateful people are willing to support me and I have met so many amazing people whose experiences have really helped me too,' he said. Additionally, a charity football match is being organised at Glossop North End on Saturday, July 11 to show support for Jack.
